Kraków Airport is a leader among Polish regional airports. In 2011 we cleared 3 million passengers for the second time in the history of the airport.

In 2011 our airport was used by 3,014,060 travellers, i.e. 5% more than during last year.
The 3 millionth passenger, who flew with Lufthansa to Munich, was cleared on the 30th of December.

Through 2011, as part of regular flights operated by Kraków Airport, passengers flew to 47 airports in 18 countries. Additionally, the range of flights offered by the airport also included 14 charter flights.

Events of crucial importance for the development of our airport included the granting of environmental approval and a permit for construction and extension of the terminal and internal transport system. This will enable us to commence construction work on the new terminal, a hotel and a railway station. Additionally, repair work on the taxiway will also be started. All these works are scheduled for completion in 2015.

The value of construction and extension of the terminal and redevelopment of the transport system will amount to around PLN 400 million, including PLN 100 million of EU subsidies (from the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme and the Malopolska Regional Operational Programme).
