Navigation Lighting System

Navigation Lighting System
In the 07 direction, there is a simplified IDMAN approach lighting system. In the 25 direction, an ALPA-ATA cat. II system of approach lighting was installed, with flashing lights and ILS precise approach compatibility, with the potential to function in the highest cat. II. The runway and taxiways have edge lights installed. There is also lighting of the thresholds, the beginning and end of the runway, the runway centre line and the touch-down zone.
  • Threshold and wing lights in the 25 direction: Threshold lights in the 25 direction are lights immersed in the RW surface and the wing lights are ground lights – within 2, 310 metres of the threshold in the 07 direction (green lights).
  • Edge lights on the runway are symmetrically located on both sides of the RW at 60-metre long intervals – these are generally white lights but at a distance of 600 metres from both ends of the RW, there are white and yellow or yellow and white lights respectively, and from the side of the approach 25 to the shifted threshold, the lights are visible as red. The lights on the end of the RW are red.
  • Threshold lights in the 07 direction are green ground lights.
  • Approach lights in the 07 direction (the so-called “Simplified Cross”) stretch for 420 metres from the RW threshold at 30-metre long intervals. Within 300 metres of the threshold there is a 30-metre wide bar (white lights).
  • Lights of the central line of the RW are lights immersed in the surface of the RW at 30-metre long intervals.
  • Lights of the touch-down zone stretch for 900 metres from the threshold 25 to the west at 30-metre long intervals (immersed white lights).
  • Lights of taxiways are ground edge lights (blue lights).
