From the 1st of December to the 28th of February 2010 a poll was conducted by the trade web portal Pasazer.com. Krakow Airport was the patron of the poll and gala award ceremony co-organiser. Passengers voted for airlines operating flights in Poland, assessing the level of their services.
In 2009 the leaders in their respective categories were:
- Best traditional airline – PLL LOT
- Best low fares airline – SWISS
- Best business airline – WizzAir
- Best charter airline – LOT Charters
In the category of low-cost airlines the second place went to Germanwings and the third to EasyJet. PLL LOT won as the best traditional airline, the next was Lufthansa and Air Berlin, which has been running flights to and from Poland only since April 2009. In the category of the best business airline the winning titles went to SWISS, Lufthansa and PLL LOT. In the category of the charter airline after LOT Charters, Air Italy was second and Sun Express came third.
11,500 people took part in the poll. The gala itself was attended by over 200 eminent guests professionally connected with aviation, including the following people: Krzysztof Banaszek, President of the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, representatives of cities and self-governments, presidents of Polish airports, representatives of most of the airlines operating flights in Poland, representatives of tour operators as well as people who are aviation-hobbyists.
It was the sixth edition of the Poll, and the crowning gala was held in Krakow for the third time. This year the event was held under the patronage of the Mayor of the City of Krakow, professor Jacek Majchrowski and the Marshall of the Małopolska Region, Marek Nawara. Media patrons included Dziennik Polski, Radio Kraków, Wiadomości Turystyczne, Polska Gazeta Transportowa, Airgate and the Magiczny Kraków web portal.
