Advice on problem-free driving around the airport
Add date: Friday, 2 July 2010

The new multilevel car park, situated opposite the international terminal, has six levels already open for business. The traffic around the terminal has been reorganised and the position of the short-term car park has been changed.

In the holiday season, we tend to travel to the airport more frequently, and therefore we have prepared for our passengers a few hints on problem-free driving around the airport area.

- short stops
A lot of people come to the airport only for a few minutes to send off or collect passengers. It is for them that we have prepared a parking bay in front of the multilevel car park, where parking is free of charge for up to five minutes. If you stay any longer, fees are payable as per usual charges. The new short-term car park has almost 70 parking spaces. The parking bay used before the new one came to operation has been changed into a taxi stand, which increases safety for both passengers and drivers who use the short-term car park. It is also supposed to ease the traffic on the access road to the terminal.

- parking at the multilevel car park
In order to enter the multilevel car park, drive past the short-term parking bay and the taxi stand. Once you turn left, you can clearly see the entrance to the car park. The car park is automated, so collect your ticket upon your entrance. The electronic panels specify the number of free spaces on each level, also the lights above the positions show if the space is free (green light) or busy (red light). It is worth remembering that the spaces designed for the disabled are on the ground floor. Before you leave the car park, you ought to pay your fee in one of the machines positioned in the car park area. Your ticket has to be inserted into the digital reader by the ramp, which automatically lifts the barrier.
Our passengers should remember that in order to keep the easy flow of the traffic and maintain safety of all airport users, there is a total ban on parking and stopping anywhere outside of the designated areas at the airport.
