LOT Polish Airlines has launched direct flights from Kraków to Rome. Before the first promotional flight took off, the plane was consecrated by His Excellency Cardinal Franciszek Macharski who stressed the importance of having a direct air connection between Kraków and the capital of Italy, and thus with the Vatican City. 
The consecration ceremony was attended by the presidents of Kraków Airport and LOT Polish Airlines, Wojciech Kozak, Deputy Marshal of the Małopolska Region, and Kazimierz Bujakowski, Deputy Mayor of the City of Kraków.
