The Kraków Airport was the first airport in Poland to have received a non-refundable grant from the budget of TEN-T for design and study works related to future investment projects.
The support from the European Union was EUR 2.4 million and it was allocated, among others, to:
- preparation of the feasibility study for port extension
- documentation of the estimated impact of the investment project on the environment
- technical documentation regarding the extension of the airport infrastructure (among others, the signalling system, increasing the operational category of the airport, extension of taxiways and the airport apron, terminal extension, safety related infrastructure, administrative and technical infrastructure).
