About 100 additional planes (200 aerial operations), including chartered ones, are expected in Kraków Airport during WYD. There are more employees in the airport during WYD. Finally, the terminal is open 24/7, also on the days of the Pope’s arrival and departure. One should expect additional controls throughout the entire period of the events related to WYD. Kraków Airport has not implemented subsequent restrictions for passengers. However, the passengers should plan their travel to the airport well in advance due to impediments on the roads and possible public transport disruptions. During the period of increased traffic related to WYD, the trains on the Wieliczka – Kraków Główny [main railway station] – Kraków Airport route will run more often and have more carriages.
