451,560 passengers were served at Kraków Airport this February, a 25% increase compared to February 2017.
Kraków Airport has been visited by 892,217 passengers since the beginning of this year, which constitutes a 22% increase compared to the same period last year. This is the result of 3,508 flight operations (+17% from last February).
February 2018 saw an introduction of three new flight connections from Kraków Airport. The first one is Budapest – a destination offered by LOT Polish Airlines. Thanks to PLL LOT's flight network, flights to the Hungarian capital will enable passengers travelling from Kraków to continue their journey to other destinations, including JFK Airport in New York. In July, the frequency of flights leaving for Chicago will also increase to two flights per week.
The second new destination from Kraków Airport will be Amman, which will be introduced by Ryanair this October. Furthermore, a new carrier at Kraków Airport, Ukrainian Yanair, will be introducing a new flight connection to Odessa.
February also saw an official opening of a traffic control tower – a new investment at Kraków Airport, implemented by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency. The tower is over 45 metres high and features the most state-of-the-art operations room in Poland.
