In May 2017, Kraków Airport handled 528,784 passengers, which is 16% more than in May 2016. Last month, the airport recorded 4,226 air operations (total departures and arrivals), i.e. 11% more than in May 2016.
This May saw new successful flights to Valencia – the third largest city in Spain, with 3.5 thousand passengers filling 93% of the total seats offered on that route.
Since January 2017, Kraków Airport has been chosen by 330 thousand passengers more than the year before (+18%), which constitutes almost 2.19 million passengers.

- New logo for Kraków Airport and 101 connections #STRAIGHTfromKRAKOW
Kraków Airport has gained a new wordmark, which will accompany the brand for years to come, reflecting its experience, business strategy and customer focus. The essence of the company’s brand is: security, quality service, network of connections, investments, and sustainable development. May also saw the kick-off of a new advertising campaign called 101 ideas for a journey to... #STRAIGHTfromKRAKOW. As a result, the capital of Małopolska has 10 trams that promote Kraków Airport’s network of connections.
- Kraków Airport listed in 2017 Responsible Businesses Ranking
In May, Kraków Airport was the only airport in Poland to be listed in the Responsible Businesses Ranking published by Gazeta Prawna daily. Kraków Airport received crystal grade in the 11th edition of the ranking.
- 9th edition of “Supporting our Neighbours” grant competition
As many as 71 projects were submitted to the 9th edition of “Supporting our Neighbours” grant competition, aimed at developing the community and economy of Zabierzów and Liszki communes. The participants of the competition were organisations and institutions which have their registered offices in the communes of Zabierzów and Liszki, where the winning projects will be implemented. The applications are now being evaluated and the results will be announced on 5th June.
- Another award for Kraków Airport mobile app
Within the 9th edition of Nagrody Magellana awards, prizes for “The best travelling publications 2016” were granted in the total of twelve categories. We are happy to announce that Kraków Airport mobile app was distinguished in the Mobile guide category.
- Kraków Airport supports innovative solutions
Kraków Airport is a strategic partner of a pilot acceleration programme, KPT ScaleUp. This May, 12 companies were selected as participants in the programme. In the summer, three of these companies, along with a team of Kraków Airport’s experienced experts in a variety of fields, will be working on three projects and expanding them by adding features that are significant from the point of view of their application in airports. Bioseco Sp. z o.o. will be accelerating a project called Multirejestrator, which is a device for automatic bird monitoring; Nano Games will be expanding a training simulator that provides classes and training sessions in case of unforeseen events; and SEEDiA is going to develop an idea of using sun-powered benches. The effects of the cooperation with the young companies within KPT ScaleUP accelerator will be known in the autumn.
- Sabre Market Intelligence Workshop
In May, we were visited by 20 representatives of the aviation industry during the Sabre Market Intelligence Workshop. The participants of this international workshop discussed the methods of analysing data on the aviation industry.
- Ryanair celebrates 14 million passengers in Kraków
Since the beginning of its presence at Kraków Airport, i.e. since 2005, the Irish carrier Ryanair has flown 14 million passengers to/from Kraków. This year Ryanair offers the total of over 50 destinations from Kraków. Its seven new summer connections include: Porto, Valencia, Lourdes, Lamezia, Pescara, Venice-Treviso and Chania.
