Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting

 
TheAirport Rescue and Fire Fighting services (ARFF) are equipped with modern rescue and fire fighting vehicles and gear, in accordance with ICAO – the International Civil Aviation Organisation, and make the airport Category Eight in terms of rescue and fire fighting protection.
 
The ARFF services are in possession of 5 heavy rescue and fire fighting vehicles, 1 technical rescue truck with an ecological rescue function, Scania G440, 1 command and communications truck, Mercedes Sprinter, 1 off-road operational vehicle, Nissan Navarra, and 2 trailers with comprehensive medical rescue and decontamination equipment.
 
The ARFF crew consists of 56 fully qualified rescuers (including 5 professional medical rescuers) working in shifts providing 24/7 rescue and fire fighting services at the airport.
 
The ARFF unit includes an Airport Medical Safety Section that provides 24/7 medical support and care to all people at the airport (passengers, accompanying persons and employees). The section has a fully equipped ambulance with its medical staff (1 physician + 2 medical rescuers).
 
High-class specialist technical, medical and ecological rescue gear ensures safety of all airport operations at Kraków Airport and allows it to take all necessary measures aimed at eliminating life and property threatening incidents in both administrative and operational areas of the airport.
