Dear ReadersSpring is one of the most pleasant times of the year. We have all been looking forward to it longingly, which is why in this issue of Airgate we have devoted a great deal of attention to the awakening nature around us. We will review trends in architecture and technology which connect advanced scientific knowledge with the power of nature. We also encourage you to become physically active, since, as they say – a sound body is a sound mind. And since we’re on this topic, it’s worth reminding you of our attractive network of connections for summer 2016 – over 80 destinations including 7 new regular connections: Athens, Bristol, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Copenhagen and Paris, as well as 10 charter destinations. In the section titled 5 Reasons to Visit, we especially recommend visiting Rhodes – an island which ensures the perfect conditions for relaxing in beautiful scenery among remnants of ancient civilization. I also recommend our Airport Flash section – where we present the program of Europe’s largest forum for the aviation industry, Routes Europe 2016, which we have the great honour of hosting this year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our official partners for their support: the Marshal’s Office of the Małopolska Region, Kraków Municipal Hall and our Strategic Sponsor: Lagardere. We believe that Routes Europe will allow us to present not only the Małopolska Region – the most attractive region in Poland, in our opinion – but also to build new relations with industry partners, which will benefit Kraków Airport’s passengers.

In our Traffic section, we focus on Copenhagen. This was intentional, since it’s a city that is famous for its quality of life as well as environmentally-friendly solutions, as well as tasty cuisine which helps people regain their strength when winter ends. We also take a look at things closer to home. Kraków is becoming more beautiful and is attracting more investments, as well as offering many possibilities for pleasant ways to spend your vacation. Visiting our city in the spring is a very good choice. The numerous festivals that happen here won’t allow you to grow bored. Kraków Film Festival, Netia Off Camera Festival and the Film Music Festival are just the largest events for cinema fans. Literature lovers will enjoy the next edition of the International Czesław Miłosz Festival. Those interested in photography will appreciate the Photomonth Festival which begins in May, and to which we devote some space in the Photo Series section. I wish you very pleasant reading and plenty of sun during your springtime travels. JAN PAMUŁA President of the Board, John Paul II International Airport Kraków Balice Ltd.
