Blue Air - a new carrier in Poland, a new carrier at Kraków Airport - launched regular flights from Turin to Kraków Airport.

Welcoming a new addition to its network, Kraków Airport has celebrated today Blue Air’s inaugural flight from Turin (Italy). The carrier offers flights from Kraków to Turin three times a week: on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The two hours flight is aboard a Boeing 737-500 aircraft with a 120-seating capacity, and the tickets are available on the carrier’s website

The first Blue Air flight from Turin landed in Kraków at 1:55 pm today. The arriving passengers received gifts from Kraków Airport - strings of red beads which are a traditional decoration in the Małopolska region, and maps of Kraków. Before the departure of a return flight a ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by Radosław Włoszek, the President of the Management Board for Kraków Airport and the Blue Air crew of the inaugural flight and handling agent Welcome Airport Services representative. Passengers were treated to traditional Italian tiramisu, and a special cake was prepared for the crew.

Turin is situated on the foothills of the Western Alps. The city has many unique historical monuments, a perfect offer for skiers and an interesting calendar of events.

  • Turin’s most remarkable attraction are its amazing palaces, including Palazzo Reale of the Savoy family, and many baroque townhouses and churches. The town has the famous shroud of Turin, which can be watched once every 25 years, on 24 June -  the day of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of the city.
  • Every football fan knows the names of the famous clubs Juventus and Torino, and skiers know very well Via Lattea, or the Milky Way, the third largest ski resort in Italy. The Milky Way consists of seven different ski resorts, with more than 400 km of ski runs.
  • The most interesting recurring event in Turin is the Chocolate Festival that takes place every year in November. The Festival offers an opportunity to enjoy all kinds of sweets, and take part in events and workshops related to the production of chocolate.
  • Film lovers will be happy to visit Torino Film Festival, an international festival of independent cinema taking place at the turn of November.

Turin is the ninth new route on Kraków Airport’s winter route network. The previously announced new routes include Tel Aviv (LOT), Eindhoven (Transavia), Vienna (Laudamotion), Leeds Bradford (, Kiev, Lviv, Amman (Ryanair) and London Luton (easyJet).
