In December, Kraków Airport reached its all-time high, thus confirming a positive trend in the whole 2015. In the last month of 2015, the Airport served 305,826 passengers (14% more compared to December 2014), which added up to the total of 4,221,171 passengers served in the whole 2015 (+11% compared to the previous year).
It was both the best December and the best year in the history of the Airport. Overall, Kraków Airport was chosen by over 400,000 passengers more in 2015 than in 2014. An increase was also observed in the number of flights, which reached 36,345 (+2%).
Last year, there were 18 scheduled air carriers operating at Kraków Airport. The most popular airlines were: Ryanair, easyJet, Lufthansa, Norwegian and PLL LOT. All the scheduled airlines offered almost 4.8 million seats on nearly 33 thousand flights from/to Kraków Airport. In 2015, the average number of booked seats on aircraft belonging to scheduled carriers was 84.5%. The average daily number of passengers served increased from 10.5 thousand to 11.6 thousand people.
When it comes to scheduled destinations, the most popular countries in 2015 were: the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy. Passengers of charter airlines mostly travelled to Greece and Turkey.
Kraków Airport plans to serve 4.5 million passengers in 2016. The carriers have already announced seven new scheduled destinations and four new charter destinations.
