  1. 1. Airport organization

    • What safety measures have been put in place at Krak贸w Airport passenger terminal to prevent the spread of COVID?

      • the frequency of cleaning with biocides has been increased;
      • an additional disinfection service has been implemented, with particular emphasis on areas often touched by passengers (handrails, buttons, trays, luggage trolleys, ATMs, telephones, vending machines
      • air circulation and heat recovery have been deactivated; airflow has been redirected;
      • guidelines of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate have been implemented, including: sanitary distancing has been introduced: (horizontal and vertical stickers, posters on monitors reminding passengers to keep a safe distance of 2 m).


    • Which entrances/exits to/from the passenger terminal are available?

      All entrances to / from the terminal are available for passengers. However, only the entrance under the footbridge is open 24 hours a day. The other entrances are open as required

    • Is the passenger terminal open 24 hours a day?

      Yes. Some entrances may remain closed in the evening and at night. The main entrance to the terminal, located under the footbridge connecting the car park building with the terminal, is open 24 hours a day.

    • Is it possible to enter the passenger terminal with an accompanying person?

      Yes. There are currently no restrictions on entering the terminal.


    • Can I enter the passenger terminal to pick up an arriving passenger?

      Yes. Please remember to take a face mask with you and use it at all times while in the terminal.


    • Which exits from the passenger terminal are available to passengers upon arrival?

      Passengers exit the arrivals hall through a central door located under the footbridge connecting the terminal building with the multi-storey car park, the door located opposite the Visitors Center point and a door exiting onto the footbridge on the first floor.

    • Can I test for COVID-19 at the airport?

      Kraków Airport has launched the COVID-19 tests for passengers. The opening hours of the Point depend on the flights schedule and regulary published on social media and the airport website. A swab testing centre will be located directly in front of the main entrance to the passenger terminal (underneath the footbridge connecting the terminal with the car park and the train station). Tests will be administered by Centrum Medyczne iMed24 and one test will cost PLN 200 (card payment preferred). The waiting time for test results is about 20 minutes. Passengers will be issued certificates confirming the results of their tests, in Polish or English.

    • Do passengers have their body temperature measured before flight?

      Yes. Temperature measurement is mandatory for all departing passengers and all other persons entering the passenger terminal. Measurement is taken from the forehead or wrist using a contactless device, at all terminal entrances in use.

    • Are there disinfectant dispensers in the passenger terminal?

      Yes. Contactless dispensers with disinfectant are located throughout the terminal. They can be found next to each entrance, in check-in areas, immediately beyond security check, in the departure halls and in the baggage claim area.

    • Do passengers have their body temperature measured upon arrival?

      Passengers arriving from outside the European Union and from outside the European Economic Area may have their body temperature measured when entering the terminal.

    • Are the stores and restaurants open?

      Yes, selected stores and restaurants are open in the hours of air operations, subject to an appropriate sanitary regime.

    • Are the Business Lounges open?

      Yes. The mandatory guidelines of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate have been implemented in the Business Lounges.

    • Is the airside smoking room (in the gates) open?

      Yes, the smoking room is open but only one person can stay inside at a time.

    • Do city buses and train services to the airport operate unchanged?

  2. 2. Passenger

    • When arriving in Poland, do I need to show a negative COVID-19 test result or undergo quarantine?


      You are not required to show a negative COVID-19 test result. However, all travellers arriving in Poland by public transport are subject to a 10-day quarantine. Exemption from quarantine applies, among others, to the following:


      • Persons with a negative result of a PCR or antigen test performed before crossing the border, and the time between the result of such test and arrival may not exceed 48 hours. The test result must be submitted in Polish or English.
      • Persons vaccinated against COVID-19 (two doses).

    • Can I buy a mask and disinfectant at the airport?

      Yes. In the passenger terminal there are two vending machines where you can buy masks, disinfectant gels and gloves. Only card payment is accepted. Masks and disinfectant can also be purchased from a pharmacy and stores.

    • Is there an obligation to wear masks at the airport?

      Yes. Passengers are required to wear masks at all times. You can briefly move the mask aside for the duration of a document check (identity confirmation).

    • Can I take disinfectant on board?

      Yes. You can take disinfectant in a container of up to 100 ml.

    • Is there information about sanitary rules in place available at the airport?

      Yes. Relevant information is displayed on posters and monitors. Loudspeaker announcements are broadcast as well.

    • How is PLL LOT check-in organized?

      All travellers are requested to show up at the airport in good time. Check-in starts two hours before scheduled departure time. While queuing, please keep the sanitary distance. Signs showing the right distance to be kept are located at check-in desks. Travellers are required to use masks throughout the journey.

    • What should I do if my flight has been cancelled?

      Please contact the airline operating your flight directly.

    • Are there playgrounds for children available in the terminal?

      No. Playgrounds located in the terminal are temporarily unavailable.

    • Are therapy dog sessions/relaxation sessions available?

      No. The sessions have been temporarily suspended to reduce the number of people in the terminal.
